THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 6 KOKOMO, HOWARD COUNTY, INDIANA IS NAMED JAMES DE ARMOND GOLLADAY POST 6

 Son of Wiliam S. and Minnie (Hankins) Golladay; born July 13, 1899 at Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army on July 23, 1917 at Kokomo. Sent to Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis. Embarked for overseas in October 1917 with Company D, 28th Infantry. Killed in action on March 18, 1918 being the first Howard County solider to give his life on the battle fields of Europe. Buried in grave No. 234, Maudre, France. Died at age 18 years, 8 months, 6 days.
